Went to the Denver show on Friday night, and finally have my voice back in full. Still smiling. It was kind of a potpourri of favourites, with lots of emphasis on high-energy.

The only thing I was disappointed in was the crowd. I mean, whoever decided to light up? Get out of here - the only mood alteration you need at a Cowboy Mouth show is participation. That suggests you're not giving your all!

Really hope they get back here at a venue that allows under-21 to participate - my little sisters are amazing fans, and, well, they have friends who buy records.

It was nice that there were a lot of people in the audience to see the opener band, too. I brought a couple of friends to it as well...as "therapy." [laughing]

Somebody lit up at the NYC show back in February too.

I have nothing against people who smoke anything but please keep it out of my face.

Exactly!

It's a nonsmoking venue, and I really don't want to see local security having to push through the crowd and harshing MY buzz. [laughing]

How packed was it? I didn't make it, but apparently NIPP oversold and when I passed by a little after 9pm, there were people with tickets in line outside b/c there was no room for them inside.

I wish they'd play here more often, or maybe the occasional show in Boulder...

Hard to tell...

They said to email them at the site saying, "Come more often!" and I intend to get people to do that. They started pretty late, too, which meant 1) the crowd was, ahem, "well-lubricated," and 2) the late folk got a chance to get in as well. As for crowded...well, I did have one guy I finally had to push because he kept getting into my space, so the sardine effect was there, but we were able to get the wheelchair inside, so I think it wasn't bursting at the seams.

While I understand the irritation of having someone smoke around you at a concert -- legal or illegal substances -- I have to say it's kinda funny to see someone complaining about it at a CM show. What with some of the band members *coughpaulcough* being such strong supported of the legalization of marijuana.

*shrugs*

To each their own, I guess.

I'm a supporter of adult non-violent soothing methods, too. Alas, it didn't leave ME choice. Ah well. [grinning]

Well, and I love Paul, but I won't let him light up at my house. And with Paul not being in the band anymore, I guess the funny isn't there for me at the moment. :\

I don't smoke, and I've had pretty unpleasant effects from contact highs at other concerts. I don't care what people do in their own space and time, but wrecking the premium oxygen at a CM show, which will already be in short supply once the show starts, makes me sad and asthmatic.
